AwardReceived

West Hawaii Dental is pleased and proud to once again be the recipient of the Lei Niho Palaoa "Best of Hawai’i” Award. This marks our second year in a row to receive this honor. Our many thanks to those who selected us for this accolade.

As noted on the award...

The Lei Niho Palaoa is an extremely sacred artifact. It was worn by the ali’i and symbolized the ali’i’s rank and authority. Only the ali’i were allowed to use such an adornment. The pendant is made of whale tooth. Its necklace consisted of tiny braids of human hair and oloná fiber. The distinct tongue-shaped pendant indicated that the ali’i was someone who spoke with authority and was the leading agent of the community.

Keeping with its significance, the Lei Niho Palaoa Awards are a representation of those businesses that have earned a chiefly rank in their respective industries. Recipients of this award have been chosen by their peers. Fellow business owners, managers, and decision makers select the businesses they recognize as being the leading authority of their craft. It is the highest compliment and vote of confidence a business can receive.
